Talbott made a trip to Dallas Wednesday. FRitz Drogeg was in Portland Monday on business. H. Whitaker of Umatilla county is visiting with J. S. S. Powell this week. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Walter left Wednesday morning for a visit at Philomath. R. B. Harringson and wife are spending a few days in Portland this week. Percy Dodd of Benton county is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Dodd. Clarence O'Brien was down to Falls City Tuesday having some dental work done. Miss Gertrude Rodgers of Monmouth is visiting with the Treat family this week. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Trimble of near Black Rock spent Christmas here with friends. After spending Christmas with his family A. E. Seymour returned to his work at Buell. Mrs. W. E. Kurts of Dallas spent Saturday and Sunday with her friend Mrs. I. G. Singleton. Frank DeWitte and family spent Christmas day with his sister and mother at the Singleton home. Merton Ellis came in from The Dalles and spent Christmas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ellis. Mrs. J. E. Beezley and children of Salem came this week to visit a few days with friends and relatives. Mrs. I. G. Singleton had her mother, Mrs. J. P. Dewitte of Monmouth with her during the holidays. Mrs. M. Florence and daughter Eehel of Ephrete, Wash., came Wednesday to visit her brother, G. W. Brentner. Mrs. Jessie Moyer and Mrs. Emma Hinshaw went to Portland Tuesday morning to spend a few days visiting friends and take advantage of the sales. Mr. and Mrs. Will Sparks of Forest Grove spent Christmas at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Butler. Mrs. Sparks is a sister of Mrs. Butler. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. O'Brien of Portland are visiting their sister, Mrs. I. G. Singleton and looking for a location in Falls City. Charlie thinks that Falls City is good enough for him after living in Portland for a year. Frank Haley of Portland is spending a few days with Prof. Haley. L. B. Murray and son Billy returned Thursday night from Portland where they attended the degree work of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. There was a contest for a silver cup between the Haslow-Woodlawn degree teams which was won by Woodlawn by three points. Mrs. C. Dill is improving in health. Mrs. West has been quite sick but is a little better. Esther Cleveland of Dallas has been visiting her mother. S. S. Cook is here from southern Oregon to visit his family. Austin Titus, L. Fry and H. Frink left Friday for Seattle, Wash. Fred J. Holman and wife of Dallas spent Christmas with friends in this city. Percy Dodd over from Monroe to visit a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Dodd. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Starr of Portland are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harry Starr. Isabel Snyder who is teaching near Astoria is spending the holidays in Falls City. Miss Cecil Dodd who is teaching at Lewisville is spending her vacation with her parents. Miss Susie Bennett and brother Ruby of Salem have been spending the holidays with friends in Falls City. Mrs. M. M. Moore and two sons of Portland visited her sister, Mrs. W. B. Stevens during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Stevens and Mrs. M. M. Moore and sons were in Black Rock Friday. Christmas trees at the various churches contributed to the happiness of many a little one - and perhaps to some big ones. The New Year's dinner given by the Ladies of the Christian church was well attended. Those who partook certainly can say that they ate one good meal in 1915.
