![]() FALLS CITY PUPILS 'GETTING INVOLVED' Statesman News Service .....FALLS CITY - "Getting Involved" seems to be the theme of students of the Falls City Modern Problems and U. S. History classes. .....Their teacher, Earl Jambura, has given them the assignment of "getting out and getting things done." .....In groups of two or three, they have selected projects to better their school and Falls City. They are finding that people are generous with volunteer work and products, if they just ask. .....Latest to show results are Jim Kendall and Danny Rocha, who selected two five-inch-thick solid oak cuts to make signs of welcome for Falls City. Steel bands will be placed around each of the sealed cuts and they will be hung at entrances to the city. .....The mini playground equipment, a project of Diana Duhsel and Sheila Anderson, is being constructed with the help of the Falls City Volunteer Firemen. This is one of the biggest undertakings of any in the class. .....Dennis Diehm and Curtis Frink are hoping to complete a small golf course behind the school and need used golfing equipment. Steve Coats, Gene Brown and Rusty Kendall are making a small park below the school with a bar-be-cue pit and Boyd Lamprecht and Alan Wade are making tables and benches for the area. .....Dee Sickles and Cheryl Ebbs are reparing and cleaning around the tennis court. They plan to put up basketball hoops for outside practice and games. .....Joy Salleng and Elnora Napier are now taking a complete census of Falls City which they will complete by the end of school. They wish to see how many people of various ages are in town which should be useful information to both the city council and school board. .....Undertaking a campaign of recycling are Lester Stennes and Steve Rodwald. They are seeking people who will save their cans and bottles for pick up. |
