 ABOVE IS A VIEW of Falls City looking up Main street around 1910. The picture was loaned to the Itemizer by Frank Butler, Salem, grandson of the Frank Butler in the picture below. It was dated from the remembered street scene of Butler's youth. Several of the buildings were gone when he was born in 1918. Below is a portrait of Frank Butler, one of the early settlers and founders of the city. He served in county government as a surveyor in 1888. The picture was taken around 1900.  |
