“The Falls City Fire Department’s objective shall be the preservation and protection of life and property from and during emergency incidents and natural emergencies as may occur in the City of Falls city and in the Rural District under jurisdiction of this Department and in such areas covered by mutual assistance agreements.”
  • Falls City Firefighters are required to posses a valid Oregon Driver’s License and a good driving record.
  • All Firefighters are required to successfully complete the Recruit Training Program.

Recruit Firefighter Training

The first portion of training is designed to teach the essentials of Basic Firefighting. This training meets both state and federal requirements for Firefighting.

Training is held primarily on Thursday evenings. Cross training with area Fire Agencies is encouraged. Other drills may be conducted as needed.

History of the Falls City Fire Department

The Falls City Fire Department was organized in 1912 under the direction of the first Fire Chief, H. G. Zimmerman. In 1948 the Department became a member of Southwest Polk Rural Fire Protection District which serves an area of 125 square miles.

Fire Department members are provided with:

      Approved firefighting gear
      State certified training
      Workers’ compensation coverage
