Falls City Notes / Dorothy Cassidy
I love to watch the seasons as they change. We live in such a beautiful area to witness nature's spectacle.
I think fall is my favorite time of the year, except for the leaf raking! I must admit January and February are not my favorites, but even they can bring winter's beauty and the promise that spring will come again.
Life also has seasons of change. My life is in one of those. You have not heard from me the past two months. My husband of 32 years passed away very unexpectedly on Sept. 1.
He was the pastor of the Mountain Gospel Fellowship in Falls City and loved every minute of it!
I would like to express my gratitude to the community of Falls City. There have been so many encouraging words spoken and prayers said for me. I have experienced much love and concern from so many of you. Thank you.
The new pastor is John Hallock. I'll introduce him and his family to you next time.

Senior projects are underway. One group is doing a project to refurbish the basketball court in the city center community park. They have held fund-raisers and put many hours into it so far.
From the community, we thank you. Everyone will benefit from your work.
It is great to see and hear the community leaders of the future thinking of positive ways to invest in the life we have here. Be watching next time for another project.

The new fire hall/community center building is going up fast now. It is much more "grand" than I had anticipated! It is wonderful to drive around town and see the building projects going on.

Don't forget the next city council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec 5. The agenda should he available by Thursday, Dec. 1.

The Falls City Garden Club has been busy. At the last meeting, guest speaker Malinda Bermudez, who is on the staff at Van Well Building Supply in Dallas, gave many suggestions and guidelines to help all of us plan and carry out a landscape design for our own yards. It was excellent.
They club also held its fall sale. From what I hear, it was very successful. I know I found several treasures.

It is already nearly Thanksgiving time. It is such a wonderful holiday to reflect and be thankful for all of our many blessings. Even during the difficult times, there is so much to give us grateful hearts.
Until next time, blessings on your home.
